1088 Burrard Street Wedgewood Hotel Post-secondary rates are also available for a limited number of rooms at the Wedgewood Hotel, one of Vancouver’s boutique hotels. Say you are with the UBC School of Journalism and you will be quoted a rate of $159 + taxes for single or double occupancy in a standard room. More deluxe rooms are also available. 845 Hornby Street Granville Island Hotel Located just outside of the downtown core, the Granville Island Hotel offers UBC rates of $105 for single occupancy and $115 for double occupancy. Specify you are with the UBC School of Journalism for these special rates. 1253 Johnston Street Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies Accommodation is also available at the conference location, the Peter Wall Institute for Advanced Studies on UBC’s main campus. PWIAS offers a flat weekend rate of $150 for single or double occupancy. However many services on campus are reduced on weekends and downtown Vancouver is approx. 30 minutes by bus from UBC.
