SCHOLARSHIPS ::

Science Journalism Scholarship

University of British Columbia

The creation of the Science Journalism Research Group at the UBC School of Journalism has led to the establishment of several science journalism awards. A scholarship of $10,000 is available annually for students interested in becoming science journalists. Students must have a strong interest in science and science journalism, and must be willing to assist in research and events associated with the school’s science journalism program. They must also participate in a three-credit science journalism course offered each winter term (January-April). The scholarship is available to first-year or second-year students. Students applying for admission to the school may also apply. The award may be awarded to one student or divided between two students.
